The Canvas Specialty's Morale, Wellness and Recreation Structures support the US Army's FMWRC to serve the needs, interests and responsibilities of the entire military community, the Soldiers, their families, civilian employees, and Military retirees. Our MWR Structures support Military families with: child care / youth facilities and schools, libraries, sports and fitness / athletics, offices, and theatres. For deployed Soldiers, the Canvas Specialty MWR Structures are designed to help Army personnel stay physically and mentally fit. Used as mess halls, recreation centers, conference centers, training facilities and theatres; all structures are outfitted with complete HVAC, electrical and lavatories. Personnel doors can be single, double or over-sized and feature customized hardware and electronic alarms. Entrance tops are designed to enable water and snow run-off and are an ideal location for graphic details.
The Canvas Specialty Large Area Maintenance Shelter was originally developed during Desert Storm to cover maintenance crews working on Army helicopters and armored vehicles. Canvas Specialty now offers two larger designs to cover even the largest army aircrafts. The Canvas Specialty LAMS are semi-mobile, modular platform systems that can deploy to support force projection and staging base operations anywhere around the world in 72 hours. Free of internal vertical support beams, LAMS provide for unobstructed movement inside a weatherproof structure. Setup with material-handling equipment such as forklifts is optional, although commonly used. The LAMS can be placed on almost any open area, but a smooth concrete or asphalt surface is optimal. The Canvas Specialty LAMS use electric-powered winches to raise and lower the doors and the durable covering lasts up to seven years. The shelters are efficiently crated to enable the Army to effectively manage the number of ISO shipping containers. Canvas Specialty LAMS are also used for peacekeeping, training and humanitarian missions throughout the world.
The Canvas Specialty Housing and Camp structures are designed and deployed to provide comfort, shelter and protection for military personnel. Ideal for garrisons or barracks, the heavy paneling minimalizes exterior sounds and insures a controlled interior temperature. All housing units can be outfitted with bunks, bathrooms, and full HVAC packages.
